About this Course

This CPD course introduces counsellors to logotherapy — Viktor Frankl’s meaning-centred approach to therapy — and how it can be applied within real counselling practice. Many clients experience a sense of emptiness, disconnection, or lack of direction. While these may present as low mood or reduced motivation, they can also reflect a deeper struggle with meaning. This course supports you in recognising and working with these experiences more confidently, bringing greater depth and clarity to your therapeutic work. You will explore how to support clients in reconnecting with meaning, purpose, and direction — even in the context of difficult or uncertain life experiences. By the end of this course, you will be able to: • recognise meaning-related distress in client presentations • distinguish between psychological and existential experiences • introduce meaning-centred exploration in a sensitive, client-led way • integrate logotherapy concepts into your existing therapeutic approach • work ethically and confidently with existential themes • support clients in reconnecting with meaning, purpose, and direction ✔ CPD certificate included ✔ Self-paced learning ✔ Suitable for qualified and trainee counsellors

Course Content Overview

In this course, you will explore: • the key principles and foundations of logotherapy • Viktor Frankl’s concept of the will to meaning • how the existential vacuum presents in client work • the three pathways to meaning: creative, experiential, and attitudinal • the use of meaning-oriented questions in counselling sessions • practical ways to integrate logotherapy into an existing counselling framework
